Halloween Banner

Happy Halloween... just a little bit late :)
Halloween was definitely down played where I live because of the snow storm (6 inches of snow to be exact) we received two days prior which knocked out many power lines and trees.  Thankfully, we still maintained our power but unfortunately many people did not which made trick or treating a bit dangerous without street lights.  We did however lose many large tree branches on about five of our trees.  Some were much taller than our house and so heavy and large my hands would not fit around the branch.  However, we still managed to decorate for Halloween despite the snow (UGH, I still can't believe it).
I printed out a few subway art printables for fall, brought out my decorations and made ghosts to hang from the trees with my little man.  Of course no holiday (can we really call it a holiday?) is complete without a banner.  So without further adieu, here she is...
I used Birthday Bash for the actual banner and Happy Hauntings for the letters.  The spiders are left over from my little man's sensory bucket (more on that later).

I am so happy with how it came out.  I love the letters and how they look like they are dripping and of course you can't forget the glitter.  I am sure you are shocked that I used glitter and pop dots.  Never seen that before on this site, lol!
What do you think?

Birthday Series: Construction Birthday Part Two: Decorations

Birthday Balloon Wreath

Welcome to Part Two of the Birthday Series! I have many photos of some of the decorations I put up for my little man's second birthday.  Sadly, I ran out of time to finish taking pictures because some family members showed up 30 minutes early! UGH! Usually everyone in my family is late :)  But anyways...

I created this adorable balloon wreath with the great tutorial over at How Does She?  Seriously, check out this website when you are done reading because they have some great ideas :)  The only thing I did differently is to use a foam wreath frame rather than the straw wreath.  I always try to use what I have on hand and I had recently taken apart Baby's R diaper wreath (yeah I know a little late but who cares it looked so cute on his door). So guest were greeted at out door with this lovely wreath just to set the tone of a hoppin' party inside.

I used red, white, light blue, and dark blue balloons that I found at Walmart and the greening pin packs.  I also added some loops of left over ribbon I had.

Note: Your fingers will kill you for the next couple of days after pushing in pin after pin.  Also be very careful with any pins that make their way out the side because they are very sharp.

Free Printable Happy Birthday Sign
This is my first attempt at making a printable since at the time I couldn't find anything online for birthdays.
Once again... I am still learning :)  I had three frames on our table as family members came in.  One frame held the invitation, another a current picture of the little man, and I framed this printable in a large black frame with a double mat from Michaels.
If you are interested in the FREE printable for any of your birthday needs you can download it HERE
I would love to here what you think :)

Cartridges used:
Birthday Bash
Boys Will Be Boys
I used lots of laying for both the banner and the letters and pop dotted almost everything.  I also added three small red rhinestones to each corner.

I still have some more photos of decorations so stay tuned for Part Two and a Half tomorrow :)

Elmo Birthday Banner

As promised I finally downloaded the photo of the Elmo Birthday Banner I created for a friend at work.  Here it is in all it's glory!
I know it's hard to see but you can tell how large it was and the whole effect it created!  If you have no idea what I am talking about click here for the original post.  Thanks Jen for the photo!

Elmo Birthday Banner

So a friend of mine ordered a Elmo birthday banner for her twin girls who were born a day before my little man!  I actually based the design off her invites which had a black and white polka dot border.  I was extremely happy with the results and her girls LOVED it!  Just recently she informed me that the banner was still up in their home (the girls birthday was at the beginning of March)!  I am just so ecstatic that something I created brought so much joy to someone else.  Enjoy the pictures.  I used the Birthday Bash and Sesame Street Friends cartridges.  All the characters are cut at 4 inches. I'm sorry I don't have a full picture of the banner but my friend told me she would send one soon.

Even though it was time consuming making sure all the little pieces were cut out of the characters, I had such a fun time putting this banner together.  Next up... I plan to make a Sesame Street character book!
